Vagina infections are common in all age groups of women. Normal, slighly acidic pH ranging from 3.8 to 4.4 is essential for optimal organ function to protect vagina from infections caused by patogenic bacteria. Infections needing prescription medicines are often indicated by exceptionally low vaginal pH. During pregnancy, vaginal infections are dangerous to both the mother and the foetus.
The test package includes instructions, sterile Dacron stick for sample withdrawal, pH test panel, and pH colour chart. pH values below 3.8 and above 4.4 are abnormal to healthy women and suggestive of vaginal infection.
