The concentration of alcohol in breast milk is comparable to that of blood. The test panel consists of a plastic panel with a reaction pad attached at the middle. On contact with alcohol, the reaction pad will rapidly turn colors depending on the concentration of alcohol present. Within 3-5 minutes the result is ready to be read by comparing the color of the reaction pad with the supplied color card showing relative alcohol concentration at 0 %, 0.01 %, 0.02 %, 0.04 %, 0,08 %, and 0.30 %.
