Ethyl glucuronide ETG is a metabolite of alcohol. It is used as a biomarker to test for recent ethanol use and to monitor alcohol abstinence in situations where drinking is prohibited, e.g. in the military, in schools, in air pilots, in health care personnel, and in recovering alcoholics. ETG can be determined in the urine up to 80 hours after alcohol drinking.
